Membership with the Mason County Sportsman's Association

Every prospective member is expected to attend an orientation meeting so that we can meet with them and answer any questions they may have. The orientation lasts about 3 hours and includes a tour of the facilities, and basic instruction on how to handle a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver. Range Safety Procedures and Basic Standard Operating Procedures are also covered.

A membership application for each applicant is completed at the end of the orientation. Applicants are put to a vote at the next General Membership meeting which are preferred in person, but virtual is also an option.

Interested in becoming a member?

There are three easy steps:

  1. Attend a new member orientation class that is the third Saturday of the month at 10AM at the range. The class is up to three hours long. No firearms are needed. We will talk about MCSA and who we are, the different programs that we offer, and what to expect when you come to use the range as a member.
  2. After attending the new member orientation, you may fill out a membership application.
  3. New Members will be voted in at the next General Membership meeting, the first Wednesday of the month. After you are voted in, you will need to pay membership fees. Upon receipt of your fees, you will be provided a door fob to access the range.

Do you have additional questions? Please contact the Membership Committee at Membership@masoncountysa.com or call (360) 427-1102 and leave a message.

What do my dues help the club finance?

  • Club maintenance
  • Club programs

How much are dues?

  1. Single membership dues: $175 / year, with a discount of $105 if 20 volunteer hours have been served in the membership year, bringing the dues to $70.
Members are only eligible for this discount as renewal payments, not as an incoming new member.

  2. Family membership dues: $262.50 / year, with a discount of $157.50 if 30 volunteer hours have been served in the membership year, bringing the dues to $105.
Members are only eligible for this discount as renewal payments, not as an incoming new member.
  • One-time Fees (applicable to both membership types and due at joining along with the membership dues payment)
    • One time $75 initiation fee when joining
    • Key card: $20.00 each
  • Background check: $11 (waived if WA State CCL is current).

There is no cost to attend the monthly New Member Orientation or to apply to become a member, except for a small background check fee, if applicable. Prior to being voted in as a member, attending the New Member Orientation is mandatory. New members who have been voted in will pay the the "non-volunteer" dues for their first year, since they have not yet worked any volunteer hours. Prices subject to change without notice.

Once members are voted in and they pay their entry dues, they get their key card AND MCSA Bylaws, Standing Rules and Range Operations folder.
